What if I order the wrong size?
Please ensure that you are ordering the correct size, visiting your piercer for proper sizing before ordering. We are unable to exchange or return body jewelry for safety and health.
What is your return policy?
We do not offer returns or refunds. Please be sure on sizing and styles before ordering.
For in person services: if you are not completely satisfied with your services, please reach out to Maul in person or via email.
Do you use jewelry that is safe for sensitivities/allergies?
Tine uses only the absolute highest quality material available in our body jewelry. Exclusively using only APP (Association of Profession Piercers) compliant jewelry companies that can be verified and are implant grade materials.
How do I know what size to order?
Please come in if you are local for a no cost sizing apppointment.
If you are not local, please visit your piercer to confirm correct sizing and styles.
Does your jewelry come with backs?
The backings are sold seperately, but available in multiple sizes. Also in the shop and on our site.
When is it safe to change my jewelry?
Please consult with your piercer. This will vary on the type of piercing, your lifestyle, aftercare, health, genetics, etc.
What if I develop an irritation bump?
Irritation bumps can only be treated with proper aftercare, proper jewelry (style, size, and material) and proper piercing technique.
First we must figure out what is causing the irritation. This could be anything from missing steps on after care, TOUCHING, pets, bumps/snags, etc.
It is usually most fruitful to come in for a piercing check, so you can chat with a piercer to attempt at getting to the bottom of it. If it isn't obvious immediately, I instruct to work through a process of elimination to rule out the usual suspects.
Do you use jewelry safe for initial piercings?
Absolutely, we only offer the highest quality materials. We also pride ourselves on making proper selections (style and sizing) to set you up to be successful.
Can I shower with my jewelry in?
DO NOT TAKE OUT YOUR JEWELRY.
Yes please, shower. Just ensure that you are not leaving things wet. If you are not cleaning your piercing along with your shower, that is fine, please just pat them dry to avoid irritation. Also be mindful of any hair or skin products and keep them far away from your piercings.
Do not submerge fresh piercings in tubs, pools, or natural bodies of water.
Should I twist or touch my jewelry?
Please don't, that is going to set you back in your healing and possible longterm damage.
You will also introduce bacteria to the piercing any time you touch it.
Proper Aftercare?
STERILE SALINE, we prefer Neilmed. Another brand is just fine of course, just ensure that it is wound wash containing 0.9% sodium chloride and water without any additives.
Now the proper use. (I would recommend against using one q-tip on multiple piercings)
1. soak a q-tip generously with warm water. Gently soften and remove any crusties.
2. soak a q-tip with sterile saline and liberally apply to both sides of the piercing. Allow to sit for 20 seconds.
3. soak a q-tip with warm water, retrace your steps and gently remove any remaining sterile saline.
4. gently pat dry with a dry q-tip.
Twice daily. Do not exceed 3 times in a day.
Avoid submerging, touching, sleeping on, fresh piercings. Do not take out the jewelry. On time downsizing is very important to avoid delayed or complicated healing.
If you have more specific questions or lifesyle questions please reach out to us.
Does jewelry quality matter?
You will find that you have an easier time healing with higher quality jewelry. Even your healed piercings will be happier with high quality jewelry.
Lower quality can hurt your flesh, causing irritation, rusting, flaking off in your body, etc. Exteranl threading can harbor bacteria and cause tearing or cutting inside your piercing channel.
Do you offer genital piercings?
Yes! Please reach or schedule a consult for any of this work. We are passionate about these piercings, just like any other. But as a smaller studio just starting out, we don't have a full size run of every piece of jewelry needed. So we have opted to treat this service as consult for proper sizing and anatomy check.
After the consult we will be able to order jewelry JUST for you.
Can you special order jewelry I want?
Totally, we strive to have anything you could want. We will price things out with you and take % based deposit for this. You can pay the remaining balance after collecting your pieces.
Please keep in mind jewelry can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to come in. We do our very best to set a realistic expectation for the wait.
If you order jewelry and do not pick it within 30 days of it's arrival to the shop/notification of it's arrival you forfeit your deposit.
Special orders may not seem like a big deal, but it is extra work, time, and money. Please only serious inquiries.
Do you require a deposit for booking an appointment?
Nope, we are operating on the honor system. If you say you will be here, please be here. Let us know asap if something comes up, so we can attempt to fill your vacant spot.
If this is abused or "no shows" are a regular occurrence, we will instate a deposit. Please don't ruin it for everyone.
What days are you in the studio?
We will take our last appointment 30 minutes before close to allow for cleaning and preparing for the next day.
Friday 11-7
Saturday 11-7
Sunday 11-5
Monday (yes, Monday!!) 11-7
Are you looking for an apprentice currently?
Although I appreciate the enthusiasm and trust in me as a potential mentor. I am not currently licensed in the State of Kansas as a trainer. I will not be even thinking about that for several years and have my heart set on my first apprentice.
What about hiring front of house?
We're a very small operation for the time being and don't have any openings.
We will most certainly post about an openings that come up though.
I'm underage and want a piercing, do you do that?
Yes, I am pretty picky about what I offer to my younger folks. (please see the piercing menu or reach out with questions) We start offering some piercings at 14years and older. But I do enjoy being a part of self expression and bodily autonomy.
I do require a birth certificate for the minor, as well as State issued ID for the minor and their parent. The state of Kansas also requires that the parental release form be notarized DAY OF THE SERVICE. You can have it notarized elsewhere but we will still require all the documents listed above. EVERYTIME.
Appointment preferred?
Yes. We would prefer that you schedule an appointment to allow for specialized time with you. We feel that this will enhance your experience with us.
That being said, I do enjoy the thrill of walk-ins. So I will always take walk-ins when my schedule allows.
Do you offer services for my child under 14 years old?
We do not at this time. It could of course possibly change in the future.
Through my years of experience I have found my comfort zone in offering services to 14 years plus.
I start offering a limited menu of piercings under 18 year of age. This is notated in the services page under each individual service.
I have made my cut offs based on my personal experience as a person with piercings but also as a piercer guiding clients through their healing over the years. I am also very big on consent, asking for it of course. But also informed consent, meaning the client understands that changes to their body and what it takes to care for it properly.
